Rental Cabin - Mack's River Shack

Mack's River Shack - On the AuSable River up near the headwaters area south of Frederic, this 2 bedroom 1 bath rustic log cabin sits only about 50 feet from the river.

This little cabin is exactly what comes to mind when you think "cabin on the river". It has an enclosed front porch and deck off the front. The cabin includes a fireplace, a well equipped kitchen and state land across the river insures a quiet time for all. It’s very secluded. There's a fire pit out front and wireless high speed Internet access too.

There’s excellent brook trout fishing out front and it’s only a few miles from the Manistee River, the other AuSable River Branches and our local lakes, it’s a great base camp location. This is a great area for kayaking and the ATV/snowmobile trails are directly accessible too. There's very little river use pressure here.

The neighbors on either side are a professional fly fishing guide/fly tier and a bamboo rod maker.

Rates are $109 per night with a 2 night minimum or $621 a week (6 Nights). A refundable security deposit of $250 is required as is non-refundable $30 cleaning fee. 1/2 of the total is required at the time of booking with the balance due at or prior to arrival.
