Fly Fishing Structure

Fly Fishing Structure

“Structure” refers to the features above, below, and at the surface of the water you are fishing. These critical elements, which range from the natural vegetation of the area to fallen trees, manmade objects, and anything else in the water (including yourself), all form the neighborhood that fish call home. Like us, fish adapt to their neighborhood and learn tricks for survival there. Just as a person who grows up on a ranch in Idaho will have a different way of life and common knowledge than a person who grows up in downtown New York, fish have adapted to fit into their neighborhoods. To conquer them, you must also learn to adapt to the neighborhoods that you fish in.
